These workshops are aimed at people who have never danced tango before and want to get there fast or for those started learning and who wish to take their tango to a new level of competence and fun once and for all .

La Practica
“La Practica”.
Commencing this Sunday, 22nd August and then every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month.
This is an open practica for dancers of all levels with a special welcome extended to beginner and intermediate dancers.
From 3pm to 6pm.
At Sidewalk Tango 327 Swan St, Richmond.

Dance Protocol: Women are encouraged to invite Men to dance!
This is an opportunity to practice our Tango in a relaxed atmosphere, at a convenient time on weekends, with the intention of progressing our dancing to be able to attend Milongas with increased confidence. Experienced dancers available for advice guidance and practice. No class, no teaching, no need to bring a partner, just great dance music, great dance floor and really great friendly atmosphere!

Milonga and Vals are two essential components of tango dancing.
In these classes you will learn (or revise) the basics correctly, accurately and beautifully for Vals and Milonga rhythm.
You will take away enough to be able to dance and join in social dancing with ease.
Then following on from this stage, with the new heightened sense of rhythm we have just gained, we will look at some very clever, fun improvisational ideas to really spice things up.
BOOKINGS: workshop places are only available for pre-booked registrations. This is in order to keep numbers of lead and follow equal during the classes. To register for the workshop please write to:

Learn How To Dance Tango In One Intensive Weekend
Immerse yourself, find the point of no-return where you let go and tango across to the other side!
These workshops are aimed at people who have never danced tango before and want to get there fast or for those who wish to take their tango to a new level of competence and fun once and for all .
On Sunday, there will be a practica open to all tango dancers where the Immersion workshop participants will be able to mingle, meet and dance with experienced Tango dancers from the Melbourne milonguero scene.
Followed by an Intermediate/Advanced Workshop designed to freshen up technique, inspire new ideas and set the tone for a new year of sensational tango experience.
The weekend will be completed with a BBQ and Practica till 9.00pm

Tango Argentino in Melbourne 2010
Tango Argentino dancing at Sidewalktango commences on
Wednesday 10th February 2010.
Classes include Milonguero, Salon and Nuevo stylisations whilst bearing in mind our philosophy that there is only ONE tango.
Basic Tango at 7.00pm on Wednesdays and Monday nights is suitable for raw beginners, but is also suitable for serious dancers wishing to hone their technique.
Intermediate and Advanced level group classes also held every week.

TANGO NUEVO WORKSHOPS - Fun and FUNKY
The Thursday night course is commencing this Thursday at 7.30pm. It is a pre-paid course of four weeks $80pp
Be guided through the technique for a sound basis on which to build your own creative sense.
It will assist and build skills in improvisation, relaxation, and understanding of the tango argentino structure.
The course will look at using the tango nuevo analysis, style and connection as a starting point for creating the tango argentino system.
A fresh outlook and new perspective.

Our popular open level Mens and Womens workshops are being held again on Sunday 14th June
These workshops are an excellent opportunity for tango dancers to hone their skills and learn and ask about essential tango elements at a deeper level not possible in normal class situations. Highly recommended for all levels.
SUNDAY 14th JUNE
Womens Technique (women only) 1.30-3.00pm
Adornments are the ultimate in style and pleasure, but are only
possible when created as a function of the basic tango structure and posture.
The workshop will cover techniques maximising the potential for expression in adornos through use of the “Free ” leg, with grace and style.
