DJ José José grew up in Argentina listening to tango from his parents’ record player.

He has been dancing tango for many years, and DJing at milongas organized by himself and friends in Bariloche, Patagonia. His love for tango is divided: he is both a dancer and a musician. He likes to combine these aspects when he can – he established and directed a tango sextet in Argentina and currently plays bandoneon with The Melbourne Tango Orchestra.

He has travelled extensively to “encuentros de tangueros” across Argentina to hear the new wave of contemporary tango orchestras reviving the live music tradition, and he loves to throw a few newer tandas in between all the classic orchestras. His personality as a DJ is energetic and at times dramatic, and prefers music that is fun and rich in details.

His ultimate goal is to provide a great night for all and to see smiles at the end of the embrace.

Nelson Mastrodomenico

I’m from Colombia where 27 years ago I started to listen and love tango music.

I have explored during this time many tango interpretations, the history and the culture around this beautiful music. Starting from the crucial artists like Carlos Gardel and Julio De Caro to modern times, I keep learning, listening and extracting what I think are the richest interpretations, from the best orchestras from the “The Golden Era”.

I’m currently living in Buenos Aires where I moved in 2018.

Here I’m the resident DJ at the “Teatro La Comedia” every Saturday night. I am also a regular DJ playing in several other milongas, such as “La Rosa Milonga” in El Beso, a well known BA tango venue, and the mythical “Salón Marabú”, where Anibal Troilo in 1937 debuted with his orchestra and Carlos Di Sarli performed for 14 years.

When I am not using Vinyl, I use digital media that I’ve been digitising myself in High Resolution from my collection of vinyl and shellac tango records.

Since living here in Buenos Aires , my vinyl collection has substantially grown and improved, so I can offer a magic, vibrant and extraordinary experience to my public.

I can’t wait to bring this sound to the milonga at the SUMMER TANGO HOBART

I’m some sort of audiophile who is always concerned about playing the music with the best desirable and natural sound, and respecting the format used when the interpretations were recorded, using mono or stereophonic gear respectively.

Anthony Miller DJ Anthony “EL MAFIOSO” Miller

– PLAY THE RIGHT TRACK AT THE RIGHT MOMENT ! – With a great knowledge and passion for tango, and collection of many rare and unavailable tracks, Anthony offers an unforgettable evening for those who appreciate tango. Anthony-“El Mafioso” is a principal of Sydney tango school “Tango Spirit” and the resident DJ at Tango Spirit’s Milongas Sydney. Has been invited to DJ to many places and festivals around the world: Santiago (Chile), Seoul (Korea), Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai, Beijing (China), Buenos Aires, Ljubljana (Slovenia), Istanbul (Turkey), Lviv (Ukraine), Vladivostok (Russia). He also runs DJ Classes in Sydney and around the world (www.tangodj.com.au). I loved Tango since I saw my parents dancing it. I am passionate about tango music – in fact I am almost obsessive about the music, and constantly on a never-ending mission for new music for dancers to enjoy. I am obsessed with digitizing the vinyls and remove the static noise yet preserving the original sound quality.

Stephan Resch

Stephan discovered tango in 2006 and fell in love with the music on a trip to Argentina.

As a Tango DJ, his musical selection is based on a preference for Golden Age music and the seemless creation of different moods tailored uniquely for each event. With a  preference for flowing valses, recognisable milongas, the big four tango orchestras and the occasional surprise, his music is sure to fill the dance floor.

Stephan has honed his DJing skills at milongas, marathons and festivals in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
