Tango Classes

Sidewalk Tango offer dance classes in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere with our professional teachers. The teaching is directed towards pure Argentinian social Tango or “Salon” style dance.

Get Started in the Basic Tango class…

The group classes are held on a casual attendance basis.
No need to book and no need to bring a partner.
You may start on any week you like. You may attend as often as you like.

The Basic Tango Classes commence at 7.00pm sharp on both Mondays and Wednesdays and cover a syllabus of techniques, which create the basis of all tango dancing.

Group classes are $17 per person,
($12 for students/concession card)

The aim of the classes is to encourage students to find the simplicity and pleasure in the Tango dance.
However whilst the classes are fun, Tango is certainly a challenge. The word “Basic” does not necessarily mean “simple” or “easy”.
The fundamental techniques taught in this class are often difficult and complex, as they are the foundation stones that will carry the dance all the way through to advanced levels and beyond.
With practice, it all gradually becomes easy and above all enjoyable.
People learn differently, and so move through the levels differently and at different rates. Everything you need to dance Tango Argentino correctly is covered in the Basic Tango course at 7.00pm on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Moving on to Intermediate and Advanced levels….

Once you have become competent with your “Tango Basics”, you may wish move on to the Intermediate(I) on Wednesday nights at 8.00pm, and then Intermediate(II) on Monday nights at 8.00pm. Our teachers will approve your graduation to each new level as it arises.
Advanced at 9.00pm on Mondays is by invitation only (partner required )

“Tango Noir” Milonga
9:00pm Milonga
